Critical Information Summary CBIT INTERNET TransACT Broadband

Information about the Service

CBIT’s broadband service requires a physical connection (by TransACT) to the internet. In addition to the equipment supplied by Transact, you may also require a compatible router which is available for purchase from CBIT at a cost of $169 plus $22 for handling and delivery of the router. CBIT will provide up to 15mins of telephone and email support for initial setup at no cost. Additional technical support, including onsite work, will be charged at $110 per hour in 15min increments. Onsite support, if required, is subject to availability. Onsite support, if required, is subject to availability. The minimum term for CBIT’s Transact plans is 24 months. CBIT’s Transact plans are not available in some areas so please check this with Transact before applying for CBIT’s broadband service. The maximum speed of your service is based on your chosen TransACT connection speed. However this is the possible speed and in most circumstances, will be significantly less than this. The actual speed will vary depending on the length and quality of your connection to TransACT, electrical interference from outside sources, the nature and quality of the connection at your location, network utilisation and the number of Customers accessing the network at any one time, your hardware or software and the websites that you visit.

CBIT’s TransACT Home Plans only provides for one dynamic IP address. CBIT’s TransACT Business Plans only provides for one static IP address (additionals upon application.

CBIT’s TransACT Broadband Service does not support IPTV in any way. It does not support any IPTV protocols so if you wish to use CBIT’s TransACT Broadband Service for IPTV then this service is not suitable to you.

Information about Pricing

The maximum termination fee is $250 if any part of the service is terminated or transferred from CBIT during the 24 month contract term. All plan charges are GST inclusive, effective 1 July 2014 and apply 24 hours per day.

Pro-rated charges will apply when you join CBIT’s TransACT Broadband service the first invoice will be higher than the subsequent ones because it will contain the once-off fee for the modem and the postage and handling fee AND a charge for part of your first month’s service fee plus the full next month in advance.

Important Information

  • Pricing effective from 01/07/2014 and subject to change at any time.
  • All pricing includes GST.
  • When a service is throttled, the speed is reduced to 256Kbps / 256Kbps and will remain so until the service is manually un-throttled, or until the end user’s anniversary date when it is un‐throttled automatically.
  • Usage metering is downloads including on and off peak.
  • CBIT reserves the right to disconnect end users who perform breaching the Acceptable Usage Policy.
